CREW Jax Communications Chair Named to JAA Top Management Position

Rosa Beckett

The Jacksonville Aviation Authority (JAA) today announced the promotion of two high-level executives and the hiring of a new business development director.

Tony Cugno has been named chief operating officer and Rosa Beckett has been named chief administrative officer.  Jay Cunio has been brought aboard to serve as the new director of business development.

Bob Simpson, who has been serving as Interim Chief Operating Office, is returning to his post as Senior Director of Cecil Airport.

“Tony and Rosa have been instrumental in helping move JAA forward,” said JAA Executive Director and CEO Steve Grossman. “They are both well deserving of these promotions and I’m delighted to be able to make this announcement.”

Cugno has been with JAA since 2002 and previously served as the director of aviation management. His role entailed operational oversight of Jacksonville International Airport (JAX), Jacksonville Executive at Craig Airport (CRG) and Herlong Recreational Airport (HEG). He previously was assigned to work with JAA’s overall Super Bowl coordinator to develop and execute all operational plans for the city’s four airports for Super Bowl XXXIX.

Beckett joined JAA in 2001 as the assistant director of human resources and has since served as the director of administration, director of Cecil marketing and development and director of aviation marketing. Prior to joining JAA she spent more than eleven years with Merrill Lynch where she held a number of senior leadership positions including vice president of change management and assistant vice president of strategic planning and business development.  Beckett currently serves as the Communications Chair for CREW Jacksonville.

Cunio has been hired as the director of business development. Prior to joining JAA, Cunio served as vice president of business development for Dana B. Kenyon Co. / Kenyon Energy, specializing in real estate development, management and brokerage. He was responsible for business development, new market identification and strategy. Before working at Dana B. Kenyon Co. / Kenyon Energy, he served as vice president at Capital Asset Brokers, LLC, and as the planning and resource manager at Florida Community College at Jacksonville.
